Comparing different IUDs

Intrauterine contraception (IUC), also referred to as an intrauterine device (IUD) or intrauterine system (IUS), is a long-acting, reversible contraceptive method that involves the placement of a small, flexible, T-shaped device inside the uterus.

“Set It & Forget It” – What types of IUC are available?

Four types of IUC are available in the US: three are LNG IUS (brand names Mirena®, SkylaTM, and Liletta®), and the fourth is Copper T 380A (brand name ParaGard®), which is composed of copper and contains no hormones. All four are extremely effective at preventing pregnancy and are rapidly reversible. The table compares these four types of IUC. Continue reading

Furious Mom Writes Letter To Her Kids and What She Says Is Absolutely Hilarious (AND SO TRUE)

Furious-Mom-LetterIn life, watching your kids grow up is the most amazing thing. But, that is not to say they don’t occasionally drive you round the twist.

I stumbled across this hilarious letter written by an angry mother to her kids, who had been misbehaving during their summer holidays.

This letter sure made me giggle and we hope you enjoy it too!

Don’t forget to share this article with your friends if it made you smile.

Hey Kids,

Feel free to leave your stuff wherever you want this summer. Half drunk smoothies in the family room? No problem. I got it. Socks in the hall. I’m on it. Dishes in the sink? Keep ’em coming. Legos? Everywhere? Love it. Oh, and feel free to drag your blankets all over the house and abandon them the moment you no longer want them. I’ll fold them lovingly for you and return them to your rooms.

See my other post on Bookshelves and Nursery Design ideas for more ideas.

As a parent, there are several times that I find myself dumbfounded by messes.  For instance… nobody is going to tell you that there will be lots and lots of books.  You can count on your child receiving books as birthday presents, from their doctor/dentist, from school, ETC! And before you know it, the books begin to propagate… having little baby books of their own. And then you are buried alive. In books.

Such was the case for us. The books were getting out of hand; and yet the girls loved to read… which is a good problem, right?  Insert super organized mommy and VOILA, solution!

Beth asked If there was a way that I could make a bookshelf easily allowing the girls to have access to them, both to get and put AWAY. She had found this inspiration on Pinterest, but didn’t love the $150 pricetag. So we decided to build it together!

Children's Book Manger { The Sawdust Maker }

I got to it and started going to town on the drawing board. This is what I came up with.

Diaper Pail – Which one is the best?

Diaper Pail Line Up (from left to right): Safety 1st Simple Step, Diaper Dekor Plus, Diaper Genie Elite, Diaper Genie Essentials, Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail, Diaper Champ Credit: BabyGearLab Staff

One thing that every new parent quickly becomes familiar with is changing diapers. Which of course leads naturally to the question, “where do I put this poopy-diaper?”

Pleasantly, until your little newborn pooper starts eating solid foods (typically at 4-6 months age), the stink-factor remains relatively mild. But, a new dawn arrives when junior starts eating solids and suddenly what was a mild smell issue at the diaper changing table becomes a full-on stink-a-torium.

This is where a specially designed diaper pail comes into play. Continue reading
